What is a custom pallet?
A custom pallet is a wooden platform manufactured with the exact dimensions, strength and treatment your load needs, instead of adapting your product to a standard format. At Flexpal we manufacture them in Catalonia to your specifications, with optional NIMF-15 treatment for export.
The standard europallet (800×1200 mm) covers most logistics operations, but not all of them. When the load doesn't fit, container space is wasted, the 1,500 kg per-pallet limit is exceeded, or the shipment leaves the EU, a custom pallet prevents cargo damage and optimises every shipment. Custom new europallet 800×1200 mm
The europallet format made to measure: any length, width and height. Continuous surface optimised for automated lines or specific container dimensions.

When is the standard
europallet not enough?
The europallet works well for conventional loads. But there are situations where using a standard pallet causes real losses: cargo damaged in transit, wasted container space, racking incompatibility or customs holds due to missing NIMF-15 certification.
Your load does not fit 1,200 × 800 mm
Metal profiles, beams, machinery or products with an irregular shape need a base designed to their exact dimensions. A poorly sized pallet causes instability, breakage and claims.
You are wasting space in the container
With a custom design you can go from 21 to 24 pallets per 40-foot container. On frequent export routes, that extra 14% of cargo per shipment translates directly into freight savings.
You export outside the EU
For the US, China, Australia, the UK and other ISPM-15 signatory countries, NIMF-15 treatment and the IPPC stamp are mandatory. Without them, cargo can be held or destroyed at customs. We manufacture with the certification built in.
Your load exceeds 1,500 kg
The standard europallet is rated for 1,000 kg of dynamic load. For heavy machinery, natural stone or industrial equipment we manufacture reinforced pallets with double boards that support up to 2,500 kg or more.
Your racking has non-standard dimensions
Industrial warehouses with racking of inherited depths. A pallet built exactly to your racking dimensions eliminates forced-fit structures and maximises vertical warehouse use.
You need traceability or marking
Pharma, controlled food, aerospace and automotive require packaging to carry a batch code, logo or traceability references. We engrave or mark it directly on the block during manufacturing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CUSTOM PALLETS
01 How long does custom pallet manufacturing take?
It depends on the quantity and specifications. For standard batches, the usual lead time is about 15 business days without forecast (less if the order is recurring and planned). Tell us what you need and we will give you an exact timeframe.
02 Is there a minimum order for custom pallets?
The minimum order is 60 units for used pallets and 120 units for new custom-made pallets, because each production run is prepared to your dimensions and requirements. Airbags are sold from a box of 15 units. The unit price improves with volume, and if your consumption is recurring we prepare preferential pricing and a delivery schedule. 03 Can you include NIMF-15 treatment?
Yes. All our custom pallets can be manufactured with NIMF-15 phytosanitary treatment, mandatory for export outside the European Union.
04 Can you add my company logo to the pallet?
Yes, we can mark or engrave your company logo or identification on the pallet. Ask us about customisation options.
05 What materials do you use?
We mainly work with pine and fir wood. We can also manufacture with treated wood, certified recycled wood or other materials depending on your needs.
06 How much does it cost to manufacture custom pallets?
The price depends on the dimensions, material, load capacity and order volume. As a guide, a custom new-wood pallet in medium batches starts at prices similar to standard new pallets, with a differential that is quickly recovered by reducing cargo damage and optimising transport space. 07 What is the difference between a 2-way and 4-way pallet?
A 2-way pallet allows the pallet truck or forklift to enter from only two opposite sides. It is more economical and has greater longitudinal strength. The 4-way version allows access from any angle, improving agility in warehouses with high rotation or dynamic racking systems. We advise you on which one fits your operation best.
08 Do you manufacture pallets for export outside the EU?
Yes. For export outside the European Union — the US, China, Australia, the UK and other ISPM-15 signatory countries — NIMF-15 phytosanitary treatment and the IPPC stamp on the block are mandatory. All our custom pallets can be manufactured with this certification built in from the start of production.
09 Can you supply custom pallets on a recurring basis?
